HAHA! I've finally managed to soft modify my xbox console through my own little design I've created for a cheap radio shack controller. What sucks about that controlelr is that it doesn't have rumble in it at all, so cheap! Doesn't matter now as that controller was meant for something anways. This process was with patience and precision since I was dealing with pins that were really close to each other. What a pain that is! I give thanks to the online resources to make this possible so I can start playing my oldschool stuff on my xbox rather than letting it has all of that memory wasted on save game memory. I've thought of using my own PSP system as the memory source since that was the only thing that I had to make this. Action Replay XBOX software was being a pain in the butt since it kept crashing on me when attempting to do the USBView process to think that my PSP was the Memory Unit. I've found out that the PSP doesn't like the Hosting features so it took me awhile to come up with plan B.
A glimpse of luck, I figured that my mutli-card reader would work in this process as I do own a MS DUO converter for the reader. Amazing it worked! The AR software detected it as a Memory Unit and was able to transfer the softmod files onto the memory stick. After that, I used my MechAssault exploit game to make this all work. After backing up my eeprom and memory I got everything installed and have a full blown modified Xbox! Cheers to the Hombrew Community and Hackers out there!
